Westminster’s UASC manager has worked closely with Tute Education’s ESOL specialists to deliver a choice of ESOL programmes
Lessons are available to suit learners of all levels from those with no prior knowledge of English to those wishing to pursue ESOL accreditation to support progression to college courses and beyond.
All ESOL lessons are delivered live, by qualified specialists to a maximum groups size of 10 students. In these small groups, students benefit from a high level of interaction with their teacher and with one another, an important factor when acquiring speaking and listening skills.

Available ESOL Provision
Our ESOL programmes are here to support students who are not native speakers of English to grow in confidence and prepare to access life in school and beyond.
The programmes deliver speaking, listening, reading and writing activities which contain strong elements of task-based assessment covering a range of skills needed to settle in the country and get by on a day-to-day basis.

ESOL Virtual School - Secondary |
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) offerings tailored for secondary school-aged children encompass a comprehensive range, spanning from Pre-entry and Pre-entry beginners to Entry levels 1, 2, and 3.
Additionally, our program features specialised sessions such as Enrichment Wednesday, along with focused instruction in Maths at Entry levels 1 and 2.

ESOL Virtual School - Adult|
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programmes for adults cover a spectrum of proficiency levels, including Pre-Entry and Entry Level 1. Our offerings also extend to specialised sessions like Enrichment Wednesday and targeted instruction in Maths at Entry Levels 1 and 2.

After School ESOL |
£15 per student, per lesson
Our after school ESOL programmes are suitable for students who have a place in school but would benefit from targeted ESOL teaching to improve their language skills.
​
Programmes are available at Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2 and Entry Level 3. Each programme comprises of two lessons per week delivered as school day extension.

Pre-entry Level |
£15 per student, per lesson
Our Pre-entry Level programme is suitable for students with little or no prior knowledge of English.
Students will learn the essential basic skills including recognising letters of the alphabet, pronunciation, the sounds of letters and syllables, basic grammar and essential vocabulary. Teaching is topic-based to keep learning interesting and relevant to real life.
This programme lays the perfect foundation for progression to Entry Level 1 programme.

Entry Level 1 |
£15 per student, per lesson
Our Entry Level 1 programme is suitable for students who are ready to progress from the Pre-entry Level of ability.
Students will gain the communication skills to progress in education, the workplace and beyond. They will encounter topics which are both familiar and relevant to them as learners of English and cover a broad range of the component skills, knowledge and understanding listed in the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum.
​
In addition to ESOL, this provision includes a choice of more lessons in other curriculum subjects to support the acquisition of subject-specific vocabulary that supports access to the wider school curriculum and to promote British Values for students settling in the UK.

Entry Level 2 |
£15 per student, per lesson
Our Entry Level 2 programmes provide a progression pathway for students to build on their language skills.
​
Students will gain the communication skills to progress in education, the workplace and beyond. They will encounter topics which are both familiar and relevant to them as learners of English and cover a broad range of the component skills, knowledge and understanding listed in the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum.
​

Entry Level 3 |
£15 per student, per lesson
Our Entry Level 3 programmes provide a progression pathway for students to build on their language skills.
Building on skills gained at Entry Level 2, in our Entry Level 3 programme students maintain communication skills by exploring their application is less routine situations.
​
Learners gain the knowledge and skills to read and understand short, straightforward texts; write simple sentences and carry out some editing;and listen, respond and discuss familiar topics with more than one person.
​

ESOL Courses |
Our ESOL Courses will lead to students gaining accreditation to demonstrate their level of language ability.
Courses will be tracked to the Pearson Edexcel specification and commissioners can arrange for students to take online controlled assessments at their school.
